Turquoise and Crystal Clear Waters

Humantay Lake is an ideal destination for nature lovers. It is located at the base of the Humantay Mountain, at an alitude of 4,200 meters above sea level. This lake is fed with fresh snow melted water of the Nevado Salkantay, the highest peak of the Vilcabamba Mountain Range. Because of its beauty, this place was considered sacred by the Incas. Currently, it is the main source of water for the inhabitants of the area. To get there, you must travel three and a half hours by car from Cusco and hike for two hours along a moderately uphill trail.

Cusco - Mollepata 

We will pick you up from the hotel to start the full day tour to Humantay Lake. We will travel by car for two and a half hours to the town of Mollepata. In this town, we will have breakfast. Then, we will drive for one hour until we reach the town of Soraypampa. 

Soraypampa - Laguna Humantay - Soraypampa

In this place, we will start the walk to Humantay Lake that will take us from 1.5 to 2 hours aprox., going from 3800 masl to 4200 masl. Upon arrival, we will have time to take pictures and videos, while we delight ourselves with the magical natural scenery. After this wonderful experience we will return to Soraypampa.   

Soraypampa - Mollepata - Cusco

Later, we will board the bus that will take us back to Mollepata to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. After lunch, we will return to the city of Cusco.

What to bring?

- Comfortable shoes for the walk (no sandals)

- Warm clothing and gloves

- Raincoat

- A change of clothes (two t-shirts)

- Sunblock and sunglasses

- Camera with a fully charged battery and enough memory to store photos

- Small backpack to carry personal items, snacks and water

- Extra cash
