aa

The tour starts on Avenida La Mar in Miraflores, home to some of the hottest gourmet spots in Lima, where an expert guide will tell us about the history of Peru’s culinary boom and some of the leading figures behind it, such as the renowned chef Gastón Acurio, among others. The tour includes a visit to a traditional market featuring the freshest ingredients, a number of tastings, and a tour around some of Lima’s most outstanding restaurants, located in the districts of Miraflores, Barranco, and Chorrillos. The tour will finish up at a famous restaurant, where we will learn to prepare ceviche and pisco sours, the iconic symbols of Peruvian cuisine, followed by a delicious lunch overlooking the ocean.

Pickup at the hotel, introduction, and description of the tour by our expert guide.

Visit to an Artisanal Bakery & Café
Our first stop will be at an artisanal bakery located on Avenida La Mar in Miraflores, the street that is home to some of Lima’s biggest culinary attractions. There, we will eat breakfast and taste a variety of breads made from naturally fermented sourdough starter.

Visit to a Traditional Fresh Produce Market
Along the way, we will stop at a traditional stand selling emoliente, a popular Peruvian beverage made from herbs and considered to have medicinal properties. Our next stop will be a fruit stand, where we will have a chance to taste native Peruvian fruits. This stop will also include a produce stand featuring a range of products from the coast, highlands, and jungle that are used as ingredients in traditional Peruvian dishes.

Tour of Miraflores, Barranco and Chorrillos
We will continue our tour along the Miraflores oceanfront drive in the direction of Barranco. On our way, we will see some of Lima’s most outstanding restaurants, renowned for their innovative culinary techniques created by famous Peruvian chefs. In Barranco, we will walk around the district’s traditional streets, with their restaurants, cafés, and bars. Next, we will visit the district of Chorrillos and its fishermen’s pier.

Ceviche and Pisco Sour Master Class + Lunch
Our final stop will be at a well-known restaurant located on the oceanfront, where we will take part in an entertaining cooking class in which each participant will make their own ceviche and pisco sour with the help of the restaurant’s bartender and chef. To top off our culinary adventure, we will savor some of the traditional dishes and desserts for which Lima is famous.

After the tour, you may choose to return to your hotel or spend some more time at the restaurant to enjoy the incredible views of the ocean.
