The tour starts on Avenida La Mar in Miraflores, home to some of the hottest gourmet spots in Lima, where an expert guide will tell us about the history of Peru’s culinary boom and some of the leading figures behind it, such as the renowned chef Gastón Acurio, among others. The tour includes a visit to a traditional market featuring the freshest ingredients, a number of tastings, and a tour around some of Lima’s most outstanding restaurants, located in the districts of Miraflores, Barranco, and Chorrillos. The tour will finish up at a famous restaurant, where we will learn to prepare ceviche and pisco sours, the iconic symbols of Peruvian cuisine, followed by a delicious lunch overlooking the ocean.
We will begin our tour at the La Mar gastronomic center of Lima, located in the district of Miraflores. First we will enjoy breakfast at an artisan bakery. Then we will visit a fruit and vegetable stand in a traditional market. In this marketplace we will see and taste a variety of Peruvian native products.
We will then cross the Miraflores Malecón (the scenic cliff top coastal path) towards Barranco. On the way there we will drive by some of Lima’s most outstanding restaurants. We will take a brief walking tour through Barranco and Chorrillos.
We will enjoy a fun cooking class in a well-known restaurant near the seashore. The restaurant’s chef and bartender will teach us how to prepare our own ceviche and pisco sour. We will also taste a variety of Lima’s traditional dishes and desserts.
After the end of the tour you can return to your hotel or stay in the restaurant to enjoy the beautiful ocean view.
