Aliaga’s Colonial Mansion After the founding of Lima on January 18th, 1535, Captain Jerónimo de Aliaga y Ramírez received a colonial house in the elegant area near the house of Francisco Pizarro, the Spanish Conqueror (today the Government Palace). Ever since then the Aliaga family and their descendants have lived in the house, thus making it the oldest dwelling in the Americas that has been home to the same family for 17 generations. As you wander through the beautiful rooms of this old mansion one can enjoy both the Colonial and Republican history of the city of Lima.
You will enjoy our colonial and contemporary Lima City Tour starting with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. Our tour will take you through the modern districts of Miraflores and San Isidro.
You will then visit the Historic Center of Lima, designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. On this tour we will discover a city that was once the center of the Sixteenth Century Spanish Colony.
We will then head towards the Aliaga´s Colonial Mansion, located nearby the Government Palace. In this house, we will get to know more about the lifestyle of the colonial nobility in the city of Lima, the capital of the viceroyalty of Peru, considered the richest and most important possession of the Spanish Crown.
At the end of the tour you will have a choice to either shop at the Indian Market, Larcomar Mall or return to your hotel.
