Peru Sightseeing

Aguas Calientes Tour – Hot Springs

If you find yourself having free time and wish to take advantage of it, the tourist circuit “Chronicles in Stone” is an excellent alternative. This tour lasts approximately two hours where you will discover the most outstanding places in the town of Machu Picchu, also known as Aguas Calientes. Along the way, we will see more than twenty sculptures carved in stone. These sculptures tell details about the history of the Inca culture and their particular ways of interpreting the world around them.

We will meet at the main plaza in Aguas Calientes, located in front of the municipality to start the tour. We will walk through the main streets of the town with a local guide. During the tour we will observe several sculptures carved in stone that tell details about the history of the Incas and their worldview.

We will also have time to admire the scenery, take pictures, visit the artisan market, and cross the Sinchi Roca bridge, where couples eternalize their love by hanging a lock on the bridge as a symbol of their commitment to each other. At the end of the tour you may return to the main plaza with the guide or choose to enter the thermal baths (entry is optional as admission is not included with the tour).
