A Taste of Lima
The tour begins in the district of Barranco and the we will head towards the gourmet area of Miraflores (La Mar), where a specialized guide will tell us the history of the gastronomic boom in Peru and the main agents of this change, such as the renowned chef Gastón Acurio, among others. The tour includes a visit to a fresh produce market, a cooking class and final tasting of ceviche, causa and pisco sour in a renowned restaurant.
We will start the tour with a
view of the Pacific Ocean. We will then cross the Miraflores Malecon (the scenic cliff coastal path) towards Barranco. First we will enjoy coffee, tea or a lucuma fruit shake at an artisan coffee shop. We will then take a walking tour through the main streets of Barranco.
We will then head towards the gourmet area of Miraflores (La Mar). On the way there we will drive by some of Lima’s most outstanding restaurants. Then we will visit a fruit and vegetable stand in a traditional market. In this marketplace we will see and taste a variety of Peruvian native products.
We will enjoy a fun cooking class in a well-known restaurant. The restaurant’s chef and bartender will conduct a cooking class and final tasting of ceviche, causa and pisco sour. After this activity, we will have free time for lunch (at passengers expense).
After lunch, you will have a choice to either return to your hotel or stay at the restaurant and relax the rest of the evening.
